Connecting MAX: business account and bot
For the Sales Workshop AI agent to answer clients in MAX, it needs a bot token from the MAX Bot API. Since August 2025 only a verified organization can publish bots — so you first set up and verify a business account, and only then create the bot.
What you'll need
- A legal entity or a sole proprietor (IP) that is a Russian resident. Self-employed individuals and private persons cannot publish a bot; non-residents can't pass verification yet.
- Verification can only be confirmed by the company head (the “Director” role) or a representative with first signature authority — the “Employee” role on Gosuslugi won't work.
- Up-to-date company registry data (EGRUL/EGRIP) on Gosuslugi, the Russian public services portal.
Step 1. Register your organization in MAX
- Go to the MAX for Business platform and sign up with a work phone number or a corporate email — you'll receive an SMS code to log in.
- Create a profile and choose its type: organization, sole proprietor (IP) or self-employed (only the first two can publish a bot).
- Fill in the company details: tax ID (INN), registration number (OGRN), legal name and address.
Step 2. Pass verification
Two gateways are available:
- Gosuslugi (ESIA). You need an active business account for the organization on Gosuslugi, you must sign in strictly as the “Director” (not as an employee), and the EGRUL/EGRIP data must be current — update it in the organization profile on Gosuslugi before the check if needed.
- A banking service — T-Business ID or Alfa ID (web version only).
The check takes up to 48 hours on business days. If verification fails, make sure the phone number and company details match the data on Gosuslugi, disable the pop-up blocker in your browser and try the web version instead of the mobile app. Still stuck? Write to the “MAX for Business” chat or to partner_support@max.ru with your INN, phone number and a screenshot of the error.
Step 3. Create a bot via MasterBot
- In the MAX app, open a chat with @MasterBot.
- Send the
/createcommand and choose a username for the bot — 11 to 60 characters, and it must end in_bot. - MasterBot will send you the bot token — a long string of letters and digits. Copy it and keep it safe: it's the access key to your bot, so never share it.
Step 4. Connect the bot in Sales Workshop
- Open Settings → Channels and click “Add channel”.
- Choose the MAX type and paste the bot token you got from MasterBot.
- Click “Create”, then “Connect” on the channel card. The platform validates the token through the MAX Bot API and registers a webhook for incoming messages. You don't need to enter a webhook URL yourself.
- Link the channel to an AI agent in the Agents section — without an agent the bot will only store incoming messages.
Once connected, the channel switches to “Active”. When a client taps “Start”, the bot sends the agent's greeting, and from then on the AI agent answers messages in MAX just as it does in Telegram and WhatsApp.
